GUIDES

Multiplayer playtesting guides

Written from how these sessions are actually operated, not from a content calendar. Both guides are useful whether or not you ever run a study with us.

Planning a multiplayer playtest

A multiplayer session either assembles or it does not happen. This guide covers the failure modes in the order they arrive: deriving the session from a decision, scheduling across time zones, no-shows and paid standbys, regional latency as a variable rather than a footnote, hardware spread, voice comms, team composition, all-or-nothing readiness checks, what session evidence to capture, and how to run the post-session interview.

Selecting a playtest cohort

Who is in the lobby determines what the session can tell you. This guide covers deriving the cohort from the decision, the four experience bands and why the middle two are under-recruited, roles and format, hardware tiers, region and route, the difference between self-reported and measured evidence, setting an evidence policy on purpose, reliability as a selection input, why price must never rank a participant, cohort size and standby ratio.

What is not here

There are no case studies, benchmarks or delivered-session statistics, because no paid study has been delivered yet. When there are results worth publishing, they will be published as results, with the cohort and conditions attached. Until then these guides describe method and operating practice, which is what can be written honestly today.
