Clear rules for a pre-launch research community.

1. What these terms cover

“Playtest Live”, “we” and “us” mean the current operator of this pre-launch managed multiplayer research project. These terms govern the public website, the Playtest Live Discord app and associated community discussion.

They do not create a study booking, employment relationship, reward, payment obligation, build-access right, NDA, pilot reservation or guarantee of selection. Any live study, participant award, conditional pilot reservation or studio engagement needs its own written, reviewed agreement.

2. Using the service

Use Playtest Live only where you may lawfully do so and consistently with Discord's rules. Do not interfere with the service, impersonate another person, automate abusive requests, post unlawful or harmful material, attempt to obtain access you have not been given, or submit credentials, payment details or confidential build material through public chat.

The Discord app is a guide and community assistant. Its answers may be incomplete or wrong; verify important information in the authenticated Playtest Live workflow. It cannot confirm funding, a reservation, roster assignment, participant award or payment.

3. Community conduct and moderation

Keep the community respectful and safe. We may remove content, limit the app's responses, or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect people, studies, confidential information, the service or compliance with these terms. We do not promise that moderation will catch every problem.

4. Your content and confidentiality

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, display and moderate it to operate Playtest Live. Do not submit material you do not have permission to share. In particular, do not place unreleased builds, access keys, personal financial information, government identifiers or another person's private information in Discord.

5. No research or commercial promise

Playtest Live is in pre-launch evaluation. We do not promise a study, participant availability, research outcome, work, income, reward, refund, uptime or response time through this site or the Discord app. Statements about a possible future service are not an offer or acceptance of a commercial arrangement.

6. Availability, changes and liability

We may change, suspend or stop the public service or Discord app. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided on an “as available” basis and we exclude indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Privacy and questions

Our Privacy Policy explains the information we collect and how to request access, correction or deletion. For a question, complaint or rights request, contact an administrator in the official Playtest Live Discord server and state that your message is for the Playtest Live operator. We may update these terms by posting a new effective date here.
